Specialist and Bespoke Metal Spinning

Artec Engineering Ltd is amongst the largest spinning companies in England and have been supplying the industry with spun components and fabrications utilising spinning since 1964.

Artec Engineering apply a problem solving approach to new and challenging projects, born out of experience and profesional certification. For each project we develop the metal spinning and fabrication process hand in hand with customer, sometimes as an ongoing process over a period of years.

We gladly take on specialist one off projects, and have produced specialist metal spinnings and fabrications for many industries from diverse areas as aircraft/aerospace, lighting, nuclear power stations, food process plants, pharmaceutical, gas and oil and agricultural, to mention just a few. Our customers' products can be found all around the world.

Artec Engineering employ an economic and flexible approach and evaluate each situation independently. We handle precious and exotic materials, some of which may require special welding and fabrication processes. Our longivity within the metal spinning and fabrication industry, since 1964, is testament to our competiveness and pricing structures.

Complete documentation is provided for each project, such as inspection reports, mill certification/material certification, ASME IX weld certification and metal conformity.

Production Metal Spinning

Our 3 semi automatic spinning lathes, lend them selves to relativiely high production - aimed at the lighting industry.

Spun Metal Fabrication and Welding

Artec Enginneering have experience in all types of welding and fabrication, such as stud welding, spot welding, Braze (silver solder), turning, metal spinning and polishing. We handle ferous and non ferous metals, such as alluminium and brass.

Coded welders to ASME IX standard using Mig (metal inert gas) welding, Tig (tungsten inert gas) welding. Some of the materials used are:

Nimonic alloy 623
310 stainless steel
304 stainless steel
316 stainless steel
Mild steel
310 cast stainless steel
welder qualifications for pipe and plate
ASME IX boiler and pressure vessels weld procedure qualification, using Miller Syncrowave tig welding sets

Mechanical and Non-Destructive Testing

Artec Engineering carry out testing which is controlled using the correct recongised bodies. We employ the use of mechanical (macro) and non-destructive testing techniques.

Non Destructive testing techniques:

Visual testing
Radiography testing
Ultrasonic testing
magnectic particales testing
dye penetrant testing

Managed Outsourcing

At Artec Engineering, everything is handled in-house, eliminating the necessity for the customer needing to multi-source. We also have access to laser cutting, power coating and many types of surface treatment. This coupled with our accredited ISO 9001 certification in conjunction with an in house inspection department and no fuss free delivery service in the UK mean our customers can order in total confidence. We provide a one-stop service covered by our skilled in house welding, polishing and fabrications, which complements our spinning capacity.

Capacities

Artec Engineering have a current spinning capacity ranging from 10.0mm dia in 0.3mm alloy up to 1500mm in 6.00mm st/st and on to 2400m in 2.00mm st/st. Our welding section boasts the very latest tig and mig technology with additional turntable and gas purging to assist our ASME IX coded welders. You are assured of high quality welds.

We have a weld crushing capability, for the removal/deformation of welds in cylindrical and linear components. We developed our own tooling for this process, to automate the weld removal process prior to crevis freeing (welds on pharmacuetical requirements).
